True Oneness, Andrea Lane |
|
While in my junior year in college, I took a class on Ethnics in the United States. I learned a lot about all the different cultures that comprise the population within America. My college - California State University Long Beach - was known for its racial diversity, with most of the students striving for oneness. It seemed to me that the more people tried to learn about cultures, the more they learned about differences. Within my class I felt that the students were more and more divided. There is a group of Christians that I know of where I find and see real oneness and that group is the local church. The local church is a group of Christians who come together to enjoy the Lord. As a lover of the Lord, it is with these Christian brothers and sisters that I find true inward rest, satisfaction, enjoyment, and real happiness in the Lord. With the local church I know there is real oneness in Christ, regardless of class, race, culture, background, and all other things that tend to divide people. As Galatians 3:28 says, There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there cannot be slave nor free man, there cannot be male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. In the local church we are all one in Christ Jesus. I have found my home in the local church. According to my experience, it is here where I can enjoy the Lord Jesus with all the believers in Christ and find true oneness in which God can be expressed through me. How to Know Christ in a Deeper Way The Christian life is full of ups and downs. Whether at my lowest or highest points, I always feel that I am supplied by the writings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. By reading what they have written, I am always brought to prayer and a fresh experience of Christ. Their words have ministered Christ to me and have brought me to experience Christ in a deeper way. |
